Re-word the question. It should be: Which one would you want to drop down an elevator shaft more?
Ray Allen. "Another win in LA"... slag off coattail. Wheelchair at least learned from Hollywood. But then he'd go next. Stern first of course, as is proper.
pierce tends to have the reputation of having a better career. But not sure if that's actually true. Allen has more rings, but never as the main guy. still I personally feel he might be the better player. i'm going with allen as the better career. to me, it seems the only advantage pierce had was staying with one team for so long, but then he left anyway. allen had to deal with the seattle turmoil.
i think pierce is a better all around player, just slightly. but allen had the better career. he saved lebron's butt big time. he also got away with a whole bunch of cheap stuff with kobe in the other ring he has. i hate both of them, to be honest. i respect pierce more, however. my god, great question.

Funny to see Pierce running away with this. Ray Allen is the greatest three-point shooter of all-time-- I never thought of Pierce as anything other than a mid-level all-star throughout his career. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Pierce was a dynamic, clutch player in his prime, capable of giving you 27-7-5. And here's fun one: Allen is #1 on the all-time 3-points made; Pierce is 4th. Pierce really has a great all-around game, but he was stranded on terrible Boston teams for most of his career. He's probably one of the top 10 best small forwards of all time.
That said, Allen isn't that far behind. He's in the same general tier as Pierce -- two great players.

That was actually completely unintentional. I automatically correct "their" to his/her and didn't catch it. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Could Pierce really consistently give you 27/5/5 for multiple years on a playoff team? I feel like he only put up those numbers on a bad team in a bad conference.
People on this board laughed when I made a poll asking who was better between Pierce and Worthy, saying Worthy was on a different level. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Both of their peak's were similar...throwing up huge but not unseen numbers on mediocre teams.
Pierce was more clutch and versatile, Allen was the better shooter.
Probably have to give it to Pierce overall for both. On a scale of 1-10, MJ being 10, Pierce would probably be an 8.8 whereas Allen would be an 8.5 maybe.

In years that Boston made the playoffs Pierce put up 26-7-3, 26-7-4. 23-6-5. Obviously, his numbers took a hit when he joined up with Allen and Garnett (as did theirs), but he was still Finals MVP.
I typically see him grouped on best-ever lists with James Worthy, Dominique Wilkens, and John Havlicek.

Ray Allen was a great shooter, but in terms of total career impact Pierce led him by a long margin. PP played the defensive end of the court far better. If I were to have one guy or the other on my squad, it'd be Pierce. _________________ “These GOAT discussions are fun distractions while sitting around waiting for the pizza to be served.”
