I think we all agree here that we are favourite to win tonight on paper, but some of us don't feel that it's a 100% guarentee...
It's still a Carlisle's coached team, Barnes is playing good, Barea is always the kind of guy who can play great against the Lakers, and I'll say it again we're still a young team, I doubt that what we saw against the Warriors or the Hawks is what we will see all season long...

Let barnes and matthews go for 40 each. That's 80 points. If we keep the rest of the team to no more than 20, they'll have 100. We should be able to outscore that.

If we want to be a good team we need to be consistent so let's do it!

GO LAKERS

I just remembered how much I hate Barea. We've never been able to defend that guy.

Should be a win as long as the Lakers bring the energy and play at their pace. Dallas is near the bottom of the league in terms of points scored, points allowed, offensive efficiency and defensive efficiency. They are near the bottom as well in terms of pace while the Lakers are at the top of the league in that area.

Dallas won their last game in OT but only scored 86 points in the win. They can't keep up with the Lakers pace and aren't good enough defensively to slow us down. We'll lose only if we sleepwalk through this game.

Matthews has been piss poor to start the season, so he won't be dropping 40 on us. Also, the Mavs are averaging less than 96 ppg this season. They have a hard time scoring. Getting to 100 would be a good game for them, and they might get there if they play at the Lakers pace. However, they aren't going to win a shootout against us. As long as the Lakers remain locked in defensively, the offense is too potent for Dallas to keep in check.

We have a chance to be 5-3 with relatively... Deng/Ingram/ and Russell not shooting at a high clip, not to mention 2 capable back up PGs in Calderon/Huertas who haven't gotten much burn.

We are scary good and we haven't even sniffed our potential.

This would be our first four game win streak since March 2013.

Speaking of 2013, what was our record in the first 7 games during the 12-13 season?

3-4

I think they're bad at pacing is because they have Dirk and Bogut who both are slow at the frontcourt, with Dirk out I think Carlisle will play a faster pace.

And I totally forgot about Barea, he is not to be underestimated, oh and Seth Curry, although inconsistent but when he is hot he will torch us.

I'm being pessimist here, but I really hope that we can win this.

Awesome timing for the game! I'm planning on enjoying the entire Lakers game.. rather than the "other" game happening today

No, he needs to make 14, to break Curry's record

Watch JJ and Barnes. These are the two guys we need to watch. If Dirk and Deron do not play we still need to bring our A game. Infact, we have to bring our A game to every single game this season. We do not have the luxury of making off a "W" before a game. I bet you the Rockets, Atlanta and Goldenstate thought they had an easy "W", when they saw the lakers on schedule. 5-3 here we come

I don't think we need our A game because honestly, I don't think we've brought our A game yet this season - not even against GSW. What our guys need to do is continue to play with max effort. It's OK for them to make mistakes and miss shots, but they need to continue to make the extra pass and put forth the extra effort on D. Dallas is a poor shooting team that plays at a slow pace and doesn't D up very well. They shouldn't be able to keep up with the Lakers.

Dallas is kind of shorthanded right now. Barea always seems to kill us. They got a lot of old guys so maybe our pace will be the difference. We've been playing well lately, but we can't take any team lightly.

More worried about Barea than Barnes honestly. If you watch his 34 points game he was shooting rythm less jumpers off of Iso's. I'll take it. Deng and Ingram will take care of that. But overall never underestimate a Carlisle team.

I almost kind of wished Dirk was playing. I like the guy but he's become such a liability on defense.

another big game.

we should win.

and we'e home.

need to win these games in which we're "supposed" to win - especially when home.

it'd be big to go 5-3

Barea always seems to have good games against us - hope Walton's gameplan can bring that to an end.

Luke should also know the strengths/weaknesses of Barnes & Bogut, so hopefully there's an advantage there.

Go Lakers!

Just took a look at their roster, pretty brutal.

Bogut and Barnes are solid, JJ does seem to have good games against us and I've always liked Wes Matthews, although his numbers this year look poor. Their bench looks really poor too, have to imagine it's one of the worst in the league.

SHouldn't be much of a contest at home, but looks like they play good defense and Carlisle is a great coach....so you never know. I think our Bench mob will overwhelm them. Will probably be contested until the late 3rd and our depth will take over from there...even with no Nance.

No guarantees but this is a winnable game if we do what we need to do.

It's all about "team basketball" on both ends of the court.

Barnes is leading the league or at the top of it right now in ISO plays. We'll get a large dosage of him.

Barea doesn't turn the ball over, he's in the top range of that. So don't expect them to make unforced errors.

We'll need to play clean, out run them, and just abuse them on the glass.

Protect the paint, clean the glass. Dominate.
