I guess defense doesn't matter to you, considering Porzingis altered nearly every shot in the paint every minute he was in. Also Porzingis full statline, not just his shooting line is 26/12/2/7 with 1 TO.
Not trying to pick on Randle, but the comparison is horrible. |
He wasn't comparing. He's saying Randle did all that while also guarding Porgingod. |
My apologies then, hard to read the context off a one liner. |

Stop. What were you doing at 19? I was in a terrible band, doing alot of illegal substances and wasting my parent's college money. Imagine if I was put on the board of a Fortune 500 company at that time because I was drafted in some type of IQ/Potential draft. I would have been a disaster.
Yes, watching Porzingis have that game while our young guys were both 1/8 with 3 point stings a bit...but that NY team is going nowhere. I still believe in this team and these players, this is just what a rebuild looks like. It looks a whole hell of a lot better than 17-65 with no hope and no plan and the worst coach in NBA history.
Just be patient and have faith. Let's be fans, not hate on these young guys who are growing up and getting better....including walton. |

Ingram is gonna take a few years to develop, he's extremely weak physically. Give it time. |

It's all good I just wanted to share a statline that surprised me given that I didn't think Randle played that well because he was blocked a couple times _________________ Austin Reaves

Yes. Our big 3 youngsters can create for themselves and others, if Porky doesn't have some one to create for him he is SOL. | He score 20ppg on higher TS% than any of our young players, and he is a far better defender than Randle/Russell/Clarkson combined. I'll leave Ingram out for now since his body aint ready. |

Kristaps tonight: 26/12/7/2
Our "Big 3" tonights: 23/12/0/11
I left out the shooting percentages (*hint* Kristaps wins on that count, too).

Also JC looked a ton better tonight when he didn't ha e the pressure of being the guy tonight, and when the opponents defense had more than two total scorers to focus on. I really want to see that 3 start to drop _________________ Austin Reaves

Hope Luke stays in his ear between now and Sacramento. Gonna need a better effort. |
I dont think its a question of effort, he is totally overmatched in the NBA. He should have stayed in college. I mean, I get that you need to be patient with young players, but we may have struck out on this one.. |
No, he made the exact right decision coming out because he was never going to get picked any higher than 2.
But, one of the issues with Ingram is he was never the alpha player even at Duke. And there's always questions taking a guy that high in the draft, when he wasn't the go to guy on his college team. |

As usual the 1 thing that haunts this game is the lack of defense, if we miss the playoffs I hope we bring in some real defensive people teachers. |

Is there a correlation between Mozgov playing well when Russel is playing well? Not sure if that is true, but it seems that way to me. |

What's funny is that even with all this chaos in the thread and game, the Knicks basically came out ahead because of a short late stretch run by... Brandon Jennings, doing Brandon Jennings thing but actually having it work!
Let that settle in folks.
Good effort from the guys tonight. Re-group, get it tomorrow! Glad we're getting bodies back. |

I've already seen enough of Porzingis to know that we really missed out on a superstar. Russell and Ingram could be good players in a few years but Porzingis is a rare talent. I've never seen a big with so much versatility before. Porzingis will be a top 5 player in a year or two. Phil deserves a lot of credit. | phil just got lucky, he wanted Russell. growing pains fam. randle will be fine. |
sure hope so bro, it worries me because a lot of players remain defensive liabilities throughout their careers. Luke needs to flex and bench players who don't give continued effort on that side of the ball. |

Game started out well. Both teams had a great flow. Didn't like how we were giving Rose anything at will near the elbows and in. I think it has a lot to do with Porzingis. Seems teams have now began to scout and respect him as a scorer after setting a screen and they don't send their bigs back to anchor or protect the basket. That's why Jennings and Rose made a living. I would have liked to have seen a change or shift in defensive strategy on the Knicks point guards. We didn't do well there.
D'LO I completely forgive for this one. I blame Lakers staff for putting him out there when he's far from 100%. You have to give him starter minutes and let him have his legs back. He's a starting point guard and this wasn't a weak team we were facing tonight.
Our weaknesses continue to be the same IMO. We're not skilled or good enough at the big man spots (5/4). Whereas Randle can score and board, he can not defend or protect the basket area. Mosgov is too slow IMO. Nance isn't really a rim protector either. We need a real Center even Noah seemed to look way better at the basket than any of our bigs. Defensively it will always be a challenge for us until we improve our defensive skill at the 5/4. On offense we need more of a scoring threat after setting those picks as well.
Good progress though in getting Nick back. I expect a L tomorrow against Sacto on a B2B on the road, but after that I think we will start to get back to playing close to .500 ball again. Need D'LO to get healthy fully.
Trades wise I'd love for Mitch to be shopping for more skill defensively at the 5/4 |

Phil plays mind games. The guy has coached all time greats. He probably wanted Porzingis from the start and used Russell as a distraction. |
