isn't lonzo's brother's name liangelo? imagine if that had been his name. then you'd have D'Angelo and liangelo (am I spelling that right?). that would be some kind of marketing campaign in itself. |

Yeah seriously. DLO looking like he can knock out 95% of the guards in the league.
I remember seeing a picture of Ball looking bigger too. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

I think this is right on the money, both the implied criticism and the acknowledgment of his talent. |
So do you know why Magic was down on DLO during the season? Taking too many shots? I never quite figured it out. |

Hearing multiple takes on Lonzo (GT's podcast, Cole Zwicker, Mark Whittington, Sam Vecencie, etc.), I'm beginning to be convinced that he will be playing a lot of "off guard" in the half court as I don't think he has the tools to run a team in that setting due to a few missing items in his game.
I think D'Lonzo together would be very nice together. |

Just my opinion, but we all know from the Kobe days that Magic will parrot the popular narrative. I don't know if that is simply a public facing point of view or if his analysis tends to be shallow. When it comes to Russell, the narrative is set in stone and has been since Byron Scott days. Many will say where there is smoke there is fire, but I remember battling the same kind of crap talking points back when Kobe was "not making his teammates better." Magic would say those things about Kobe all the time and now he thinks Kobe is amazing. |

He's even better equipped to post the (bleep) out of smaller guards now. |

When was he down on him mid-season? I can't recall him ever saying anything other than healthy criticism like he's given to everyone, including The Untouchable One _________________ Austin Reaves

Don't know if this was already mentioned, but on the jump when they were talking about Magic's untouchable comment, Pierce and Tmac agreed that Russell topped out as a pro last season .
Dude played most of the year as a 20-year old learning a new system with a bunch of new teammates and new coaches. The hate is crazy y'all. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Perception right?
Why do you think this perception exists?
Some of it the Swaggy video. Some of it the ice in his veins?
Not sure exactly why. But it exists. |

His motor/activity/engagement on the floor isn't continuously at a high level until the offense starts clicking.
But there's no question when it's Randle, Ingram, JC. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

It's (bleep) like this that just makes me wish BSPN tanks itself out of existence. What is there to gain in this? |

Well said.
I think this is Magic and Luke trying to get DLO to realize it's his team to lead. They want him to take the mantle and be the "the guy". It's not about lead/run an offense but more about take control of the team and make it his. I think that's the "it" they think he has but now it's time to let it out.
Leadership, IMO, is the thing DLO can learn the most from Magic and Kobe. |

The Nick Young incident and Blockbuster spewing crap really affected the perception about him. He is going to have to put up monster numbers to silence the critics. |
