Taylor is balling as well and Puig's been nice out there. Joc's bat is starting to come around too! _________________ KOBE |

This is the most dominant I've ever seen 3 teams in one division be. 3 of the top 4 records in ALL of baseball are in the same divsion. They're more dominant to this point in the season than that sick AL East a efw years back when Red Sox/Yankees/Rays were putting up 88-95 wins a season. _________________ KOBE |

the baseballs are definitely juiced this season, which is kinda wack but at least they're the same for everyone
also AZ and COL need to fall back soon or it's gonna be nervous-time down the stretch |

This could be the year.
Of course I say that practically every year.
Impressive run of late, very impressive. This team has shown the ability to reel off almost historic type runs when they get hot over the last few years. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Has a team ever had both the Cy Young and MVP (If Bellinger continues to show this type of production he could take it) on the same team? I know Kershaw won both a couple years back. This might be there year we win it all Boys! _________________

Besides Kershaw, there was 1988, Hershiser and Gibson.
I'm sure there were others, even since then. |

Strange to still not hearing any news about Urias. Makes me wonder if the organization screwed up his development with all the back and forth and starts and stops. If his shoulder issue wasn't that big of a concern, there should have been some report already about what's going on with him. He'll have to be shut down and rebuilt at this point. |

Quote: | The Dodgers Have Played With the Friendliest Strike Zone
Based on my math, the Dodgers have benefited from 237 calls, compared to the average. Their pitchers are at 188 more strikes than expected, and their hitters are at 48 fewer strikes than expected. All I’ve done is add the two up. The team in second is all the way down at 135, meaning the Dodgers are in first by more than 100. In fact, the Dodgers’ lead is exactly the same as the third-place Cubs’ *total.* The Dodgers are ahead of the Indians by 102. The Cubs are ahead of the league average by 102. This is mostly a credit to Yasmani Grandal, but some of the credit also goes to the Dodgers’ pitching staff. Not to mention, the hitters have helped out a little bit.
If you look at the other end, the Phillies are in last, because they might as well be in last place in everything. Among teams in or vaguely around contention, the Rockies, Royals, and Tigers have fared poorly. The Tigers have a recent history of faring poorly in this statistic. But, enough of looking at things overall. Here’s a plot of the hitting and pitching breakdown:

I really think we had the best team in baseball a few years back when Hanley Ramirez was out of his freaking mind, but Joe MF'ing Kelly had to go and wreck that by drilling him in Game 1 of the NLCS in his very first at-bat. Hanley was the best hitter in baseball that year.
We certainly have a chance this year. As I've been saying, I'd love another dominant reliever to put in front of Jansen, and Baez doesn't count. (He's having a great year but I don't want him in high-leverage playoff situations.) With Kenley able to get 5 or 6 outs in a playoff game, I'd like to be able to have just 2 relievers potentially closing out a game from the 6th inning on, and I'd like to keep everyone else we currently have in our bullpen, including Baez, to situations from before the 8th inning for sure. |

Still hoping that Urias needs time, not surgery. We'll soon know more, perhaps after this weekend. |

This team is different. Before we relied on veterans to lead this team. Its the Youngins that have taken over and said F the veterans its our time. This team's offense is insane. this is nothing like i have seen in my 30 plus years as a Dodgers fan. This offense is insane. The previous years, i seen holes in the team. Im not really see'ing all that much right now. could we upgrade in a few spots? sure, but this team is as solid as i ever seen it.
For clarity, PEDRO BAEZ has been lights out. Think about that one for a minute. lol |

Hopefully it'll be good news. The way they've handled his development should be put into question, as having a guy bounce around isn't good for him to get into a rhythm. Dodgers don't want him to lose a year of development. |

And they don't even have Adrian Gonzalez in the lineup. Ethier as well. Plus, they've got some prospects that are playing very well and will be the next ones up for a cup of coffee in the league. Verdugo and Calhoun can bring different things to the ballclub offensively if anyone goes into a slump. |

Julio Urías will have left anterior capsule surgery Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Neal El Attrache.
Apparently this is a very serious surgery. Johan Santana was never the same after this surgery.

It was acute, instead of being the result of a lot of wear and tear. There's still hope.
Get well, Julio. |
