Game 1 is Tuesday no matter what happens in that series. |

How sweet it is.
It's been a long journey, after all of these years it's good to finally exorcise those days of Tom Niedenfuer and Jonathon Broxton. |

I'd like to see both teams go to a game 7 and use up all their pitchers in a high-scoring affair due to a comedy of errors that go into many extra innings. So much so that they have to resume the game the next day. |

Trading Pedro, early playoff exits in the 90's, losing Piazza, the FOX ownership era, more early playoff exits, Mannywood and the false NLCS runs of the 2000's, the McCourt ownership, its been a long road in between 1988 and 2017....we are finally going to the World Series and hopefully finish the job. |

A sincere congratulations to you all and the Dodgers themselves.
That team is a beast and deserves every bit of their success. Possibly one of the most impressive teams ever across the board.
Enjoy this victory and good luck in the WS (not that you guys need luck at this point).
Go Yankees or Houston!

And they had 4 straight rookie of the years in those '90s too. They just didn't have the balance or depth that this team has. The '90s baseball was a strange time. Very rare were there quality lefties, hitters or pitchers. |

The 91 Dodgers had a shot if they held off the Braves. Would have faced the Pirates in the NLCS and Bonds always choked in the playoffs.
I always thought Piazza would make it to the World Series as a Dodger. What a disappointment that was. |

Never thought it would take 29 years to get back to the WS, just relieved it finally happened after so many early exits and the years of ownership turmoil.

Like I had said before, for the most part I am really intrigued by this cubs lineup. They have a lot of young players on cheap contracts who are all 20+ home run mashers. They will have some tough decisions in the future when free agency occurs. They don't have much in top 100 prospects for pitching in the minors even though their own top prospects are all pitchers. |

That Dee Gordon trade is looking pretty damn good right about now. Kiké and Barnes with huge contributions to this postseason run. _________________ |

I think the Astros are the tougher team....they have better pitching.
That being said, everyone wants to see the Yankees just because of their history. |

I am hearing that the price of the World Series tickets at Dodgers stadium might drop if Houston goes to the WS.
Source: Facebook so it's not really that reliable. LOL. |

BTW, I just got home so I don't know what is happening with the Lakers. I just saw the score. I don't know if I want to kill this buzz by going on the Lakers game day thread. Too bad we couldn't have both tonight. Dodgers and Lakers. But the Dodgers going to the WS is good enough for now. |

Probably but it will still be expensive just because it hasn't happened in 29 years. |
