Weird time to say it when they just won 2 in a row. |
About as weird as not noticing that we lost the four previous to that when he wasn't starting. |

Really looked like he was trying harder on off ball defense. I like! |
He had some bad lapses though. However, one thing to note is how bad KCP's interior defense is. I mean he doesn't even try to offer resistance. One play Kuz had to help him so much that he got burned on the kick-out. |
Kcp's on ball defense
Kcp's off ball defense |
really:-?
I think KCP is actually a poor on-ball defender. For a guy with shut down defensive reputation, I've seen very few reputable defender who consistently gets blown past by so easily. I think it has to do with bad at reading the development of play and having a poor reaction time. Also, I don't like his team defense either.
However, I think he is an excellent off the ball man defender. Excellent ball denying defense(although he can get burn by backdoor cut), great at chasing shooters/scorers through screens. His defensive skill set seems to fair well against Rip Hamilton type players, someone like Klay Thompson(also against Curry when he is off the ball). He seems to be a good screen defender. Love his overall energy and hustle though.
He truly is a mixed bag on both ends of the court imo. He is a fine player/defender for a young team that lives off of energy and youth, but
he isn't really a good piece on contending team. |

4 out of Kuz's 6 blocks of the season came from these last 4 games. I'm loving his focus on rebounding and defense lately. It's what has been lacking in his game but always knew he had it in him if he focused on those aspects of the game.
Once he puts it all together, it's game over. |

Would rather start Randle with Brook so Kuz can help out Nance on the second unit. I want to see Randle and Nance playing together as little as possible. |

Love this kid so much. That clutch 3 to tie the game was straight ice in his veins. I feel like Luke is trying to tame his game too much lately. We should be running more action for him instead of allowing KCP to run loose or Lopez jacking up bricks. |

I agree, I do like him coming off the bench though. Between him Clarkson and Randle that is a potent mix. If he starts, he starts. Just saying Im fine either way. I think that is whats great about him. |

Question: what weight do you guys think Kuzma needs to get up to in the next 3-4 years? The kid is 22 and he definitely is a mismatch on the offensive end for any PF. With that said, he needs to work on getting bigger and stronger to be a full time PF. With the combination of his skill set and the talks of George coming to town and Ingram coming to his own, PF seems like his likely position. I think 235 is a good weight where he doesn’t lose his quickness and able to body up on defense |

I'm not GT so I can't tell you if his defense was technically sound, but it did look like her was all up on KP's (bleep) at the end of the game. I was quite impressed with what I saw. |

One thing that so underrated about Kuz is the confidence in his game and in every move he makes. He attacks when needed and can pass out when the double comes. I rarely find myself yelling at my screen when Kuz takes a shot or makes a play. |

He plays like a veteran a very high IQ I was upset when he got pulled from the starting unit but you see who's finishing in the 4th quarter |

If we benched KCP and put him in the Brewer roll, put Ingram at the 2, Kuzma at the 3, Randle at the 4, Lopez at the 5 it'd fix a lot of this.
But knowing Luke it would take both Brewer and KCP getting hurt before he even attempted it. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Not sure that's a good thing. Luke often realizes late in games that he can't afford to sit Kuz down and he ends up playing 15-18 minutes straight. Kid has quite a gas tank but he can finish games stronger if he started the game and the 3rd quarter and actually got some rest before the final stretch.

I don't think benching one of our 3pt shooters and better defenders is my favorite game plan
