Jimmy Butler is so smart.
He knew Tib's ways, so he faked an injury to miss 23 games + practices.
KAT should have been more wily. |

For real though, Butler is a different dude. If I remember correctly, he tested high on some mental toughness test. Maybe that was Draymond. But Jimmy strikes me as a guy that appreciates old school coaching. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Bamba >>>> Doncic when it's all said and done
Doncic will be a Draymond type of player offensively (with more skill and flair)... 3rd option but makes everything else go. Maybe a 20/8/8 at best. In many ways, he's similar to Lonzo in that sense except he's a forward and far more half court oriented. |

Doncic as Draymond is crazy valuable on offense, but sure, I understand JJJ or Bamba or even Trae #1. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

I'm not against trading Ingram.. for the right deal.
But I'm not sure Isaac or anyone at #6 will be better than BI. |

Yea I read you right.
I'm thinking BI will be better than either of those guys.
And their combined value isn't really high enough to drop BI yet... imo. |

Trae Young or Wendell Carter and Jonathan Isaac would be a very interesting return for BI. Orlando might actually do it with Hammond's love for the wingspans.
Young
Ball/Hart
Kuz

I am not a fan of Thibs or his coaching style, other than (at least when he was in Chicago) the emphasis on defense.
But his screaming and overuse of the players is a tired cliche and certainly not the future of the league.
That said, KAT has issues of his own (and yes he is a talent) that have nothing to do with Thibs in my opinion. This guy needs to play tougher and hungrier. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Some guys mature later. As long as the talent doesn't deteriorate. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

FWIW, Vlade and Vivek are in Spain to watch Doncic, so, he might not be available for Lakers' dreams. _________________ .... |

Who has the better shot? How is Doncic's athleticism and rebounding? |

I'm ready for the Trae Young hype to die down. He's not what people make him out to be. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

Yeah, I'm with you there. I guess there "could be" circumstances that
may make it necessary but long shots at best.
With all the noise around the Lakers, we could end up in an interesting
position or even back to where we are... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

Wondering if its a case of, if the dog doesnt get to eat, he wont guard the house. |
I don't think so. KAT got his usual touches I think.
More like, excessive practices, beating up the body unnecessarily, etc.
It's strange really, strength and conditioning between the 80s to now. 80s seemed FAR less injury prone, because a lot of guys were basically, a lot lighter. They were more in soccer-shape.
Now, guys are huge, add some vert, add some quickness, get huge real fast, and yet the ACL injuries just ramp up so quickly. Knee injuries. Weird stuff. |
I'm not sure how accurate this is. There really aren't any Shaqs, Malones, Robinsons or Ben Wallaces in today's game. The guys getting hurt are all slight of build, Lavine, Kyrie, Kristaps. Every center is a string bean. Even guys like LeBron and Blake aren't as yoked as they're made out to be. Freak accidents to guys like Hayward, Kawhi, Love etc. I think this rash of injuries is largely incidental. Thibs for sure has blood on his hands tho. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

What do people make him out to be? What do you see him as? |
There was a time where I kept seeing his name thrown around for the #1 pick. People act like he's the next Steph or even just an elite shooter and playmaker. But you can't talk about his shooting and playmaking without bringing up his shot selection, inefficiency and turnovers yet that's what people always ignore. It's just annoying to me . When you watch his highlights he looks fantastic. But you have to see him in full games to really digest the type of player he is. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |
