True, but I don't see any other reason from a basketball perspective to stay with OKC. They already tried that team, and it didn't work. Melo will be even worse this upcoming season, and he opted in, which kills their cap room to sign more talent. |

Yeah. It's irrational, which is why I see PG13 coming back home to LA. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Honestly I keep thinking, all of the players should be pushing PG to sign with the Lakers because that decision would help give them all that much more leverage when controlling where they go the year before their free agency.
"I'm signing with xxxxx after this contract is up, regardless of where I get traded. You don't want another Paul George situation on your hands, do you?"
If PG "caves" and stays with OKC, this will only tell teams that they can all just ignore the players as they're weak-minded and easily distracted and they'll keep them in the end. Like what happened with Paul George.
I mean yes this is some of my homerism speaking but I still think it's real. |

if we don't get Lebron it wouldn't surprise me if PG took a 1+1 with OKC tbh _________________ one dog goes that way the other dog goes the other way |

I'm surprised this PG may go back to OKC narrative has caught so much traction. For a 1+1? Just the fact that it's a rumored 1+1 tells me it's BS. He's 2 year removed from snapping his leg, he's signing a long-term deal IMO. A 1+1 means he doesn't want to commit to OKC in the first place.

It would truly suck to strike out on everyone no matter how they try to spin it. |

Then there are 2 outcomes then to this scenario:
1) PG already knows that LeBron is not coming to LA; or
2) PG doesn't know what LeBron will do so he has to wait for LeBron to make his decision before PG can make his.
If LeBron is not coming, I think PG already knows. I think they keep in contact and are talking about the possibility of teaming up together somewhere. If LeBron seems cool to the idea of joining the Lakers, then PG knows.
LeBron doesn't seem like the type of guy that would lead PG on.

If we don't get LeBron it's because PG took a deal with OKC. |

Ye of little faith, be still.
Wait until we are allowed to tamper the hell out PG/LBJ. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

One would think so.
Force your way out of Indy to end up in OKC of all places after telling everyone he wanted to go back home and play for the Lakers. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

My thinking was mostly that if Lebron doesn't sign with us, we probably aren't going to be very good next year. PG can hedge a bit and sign a 1+1 with OKC, compete in the playoffs again (who knows how much better they will do with Roberson back) and then be a FA again next year if he wants. He can then see if we're able to trade for Kawhi + get Deng off the books, etc. _________________ one dog goes that way the other dog goes the other way |

We're getting Lebron irrespective of PG signing here or not; is he first choice? Sir, but he's not the only one...
That said, I do want PG... |

If PG re-signs with the Thunder, it will start an unfortunate chain reaction where other teams will become emboldened to make better trade offers for Kawhi. If they see PG reconsider after a year, they will think they can do the same. |

Yeah, I think that the Lakers, Lebron and PG have the talking heads right where they want them. |

PG hasn't bought a place in OKC.
Imagine packing up your stuff to leave that gorgeous 8m LA mansion to move to OKC. Sobering. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I like this. He never truly settled in. Moved back to his home in LA for the offseason. He probably could have bought a huge mansion for a fifth of the LA price. |

And a good reason why it would cost only 1/5th the price too. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense for PG13 to stay in OKC especially when the biggest factor allegedly is his close friendship with Westbrook. Others have already pointed this out, but you can still remain close friends while being on different teams. Everything else (city, front office, team construction, etc.) leaves a lot to be desired. I'll only be convinced that PG is staying in OKC when it is officially reported. Until then, I'm firmly convinced that all these pro-OKC stories are just smoke. I think PG and the Lakers are deliberately avoiding any connections to one another until July 1st. |
