I wouldn’t be surprised if he primarily plays the 5. |

He’s a nice offensive talent with multiple skills, he might not be a good defender but he’s a guy who can help you win games. |

I think you’re right but I don’t think it’s a given. Hopefully if put in the right situations he can have a positive impact. |

He played in summer league a few years ago, just because he wanted to get out and ball
Love that |
Beasley could end up being the Lakers latest version of Rick Fox. |
Yes or what they thought they were getting with JR Rider |

Probably no more than the average player. Plus he has made his mistakes, and is more cautious now. |

Beasley has matured a lot. He has done a good job on and off the court since his early days in the league. His play will definitely bring some excitement to the team. Playing with LeBron and Rondo will also have a positive effect on MB. |

The more I think about this signing, the more I like it. I think his addition to the "crazy uncles" is going to be a positive influence on the team in many ways. The crazy uncles remind me of the old 'Just win, baby" Raiders teams. I hope they play up to that standard. _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

Congrats on being so inventive. I think it is the perfect name for that group. I hope it becomes the standard way to refer to them. _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

"If everybody does their job right and stops judging some players, me mainly, you'll figure out that guys like me and Nick Young and J.R. Smith and Lance Stephenson and guys like that actually know how to play basketball, actually know how to win basketball games and actually know how to get along with others,"
"For that to even be a narrative of the personalities in this room is judgment enough for me, and I just don't want to be a part of it,"
Looks like his head and desire are in the right place, and that's to win and win only. |
He really didn't lump himself in with much BBall IQ with that statement. |
He's basically saying that he and those guys mentioned above are regarded as players who dont get the respect they deserve for some reason. And he's right, they have this reputation about them from their early years that has carried over, but all of them haven't been problems for their teams.
Young: His Washington team was a bad start for his career and he had buzz with the D'Lo / Iggy situation in LA (but that's stuff off the court)
JR: Aside from his Finals Game 1 screw up, he's been fairly under the radar for a while.
Lance: He bounced around the league and didnt play so well outside of his 1st and 2nd run in Indiana, but again, he tries to get under peoples skin, and that gives him a bad rep.
Beasley's been under the radar the past 2-4 years and hasnt been a problem. |
JR - Soup says otherwise lol |

Quote: | I'm a big Lonzo fan. I don't understand how Lonzo gets so much criticism, averaging almost 11 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, a steal and a block per game. Granted, his percentages were low, but you all think Russell Westbrook can shoot, and he's got the same three-point percentage. (Ed: Lonzo's was a tick higher last year.) Two years ago, Malcolm Brogdon won Rookie of the Year with 10 points and three rebounds a game, but now Lonzo is 11-7-7 and he's a bust? I'm a Lonzo fan. I think if you just let him play and not worry about if he can shoot or not, I think you will see a player that knows how and wants to play a complete game of basketball. Same thing with Kyle Kuzma. I liked him in college but didn't know how skilled he was until I played against him in the NBA. Josh Hart, same thing. |
A pretty sweet interview with Beasley with some nice quotes. LINK. |

"B/R: How were your conversations with Magic Johnson and the Lakers?
Beasley: I was happy that someone trusted that I could play basketball, somebody wanted me to play basketball. Being in L.A., being with LeBron—all those things were a plus, but the way the Lakers were speaking to me on behalf of me and my game and things I can do for the Lakers, that part was overwhelming for me. Because I've really been at a down state in my career mentally and confidence-wise. So to reassure me that I can play basketball, the way Magic was talking—it was good to hear someone I looked up to talk about my game. Being wanted and being admired was really overwhelming."

Having Beasley will give us the option to have another guy who can score in the clutch, Lance also can hit big shots from time 2 time. |
