I wouldn't take Beasley's interview too seriously. Dude looked high AF and I had no idea what he was talking about half the time. I'm way overreacting, but I'm kind of down on that signing now TBH
I feel like if any of the new additions are gonna pull a JR Smith in a crucial playoff game, it's gonna be him...

Thats Beasley thats who he is He's always been kind of "out there" mentally not a total space cadet like a Dennis Rodman but not your typical professional athlete He has value he can score at times even dominate games ,not good defensively can rebound and pass,I don't see him closing out games because he's prone to making bad decisions his role is perfect in giving scoring off the bench.
This guys gonna brute force his way into the starting lineup. Rondo is hyped about Kuzma and was saying he came earlier to workout than Rondo who came in at 8am

Rondo talking about Kuzma was definitely exciting to hear. Kuz really wants it, the dude is all in.

If Kuzma ends up being anywhere close to what he is aiming for, my god we will be set for 10+ years because I believe Ingram is going to be a multi-tool'd star and Lonzo will be generational talent as well if he stays healthy... then you remember we have LeBron AND another spot? If you look at the regular season Kuz had much better stats than Tatum. It will be interesting to see how Kuz does on a winner. If we win and he has great stats and plays great defense (big if) he is going to jump up the charts.
I am really excited to see how much he has improved and my expectations are sky high for Kuz. Heck I think we may see him play the 2-5 this year.

Although, I think there is potential for more than one of the Laker young players to breakout into a star....I think Kuzma will be the first of the younger players to do so. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions!

He mentioned this summer the focused was on defense and working on being a guard. I have said it before kuzma and ingram can handle the 2-3 positions. Kuz has every offensive skill KCP does and more. He is also better off the ball. I like KCP's game though next to LBJ and Ingram but if our offense needs more fire power Kuz should start.

Who does he start in place of? KCP, BI or someone else? Maybe center. Just wondering.
I would like to see him start but have a difficult time seeing a line up with LBJ, BI and Kuz starting. Too many ? on defense and rebounging imo.
I interpreted his video as he was working on guard type skills and not on being a guard per se.

He said offensively working on his guard skills but he also studied the nuances of playing Center and guarding centers.

I still prefer kcp or hart playing the 2. These two are fast on the break filling lanes, their speed brings a different element than what BI and Kuz bring. We are gonna run all day and speed kills.

Couldn't agree more.. Kuz and Ingram can play the 2 better than KCP if given the opportunity. This is a minority viewpoint though. Most won't agree until they actually demonstrate it.

I don't believe Kuz will ever play guard. He lacks the quickness/lateral movement on defense and the ball handling on offense. Yes he can improve both areas but NBA shooting guards would in most cases be more athletic, quicker, faster and better skilled with the ball. His weaknesses would be exposed.
He should be playing the position to best take advantage of his strengths. At PF he would in most cases be the more athletic, quicker, faster and better skilled player. He just needs added strength and a bit more size to handle the physical contact.
Learning a new position he has probably never played or not played in a long time is questionable imo.
KCP is being underrated I believe. He is a quality athlete and skilled player. I can still envision improvements especially in his consistency.

I think you are not seeing the picture clearly.
Lets start here:
Curry vs Lonzo
Klay vs Ingram
Durant vs Lebron
Draymond vs Kuz
On defense he is a PF and he defends Green. But his role on offense is the same as Klay Thompson. To move off the ball, come off screens and launch 3's, out speed Draymond in transition etc. Go watch his game vs Celtics, or Houston where he made like 8 shots in a row..That is how he play. He doesn't play in the post AT all even though he has shown he can he is so skilled offensively that he perfers to play away from the basket.
While Ingram defends Klay on offense he plays the secondary play maker / Scorer that Durant plays on offense.
Lebron is Lebron and can also funtion as a 3PT specialist when off the ball

Kuz can play it offensively but has no chance defensively unless he has drastically improved his lateral quickness. Ingram can guard 2s but I doubt he can be effective doing what Luke likes his 2s to do. Because of that, I actually think they can do it but I wouldn’t start a lineup with them at the 2 and 3.
But neither is a better 2 way 2 than KCP or Hart. If you aren’t gonna matchup differently on defense than the position you play on offense, they can’t do what is needed for the position. But the Lakers love to cross match like that so I think it would work.

Kcp guards steph really well. Look up kcp vs steph
BI should be on Durant. Length and you dont want Bron with this assignment. Saves him some energy for offense.
Zo checks klay. Both are 6'7ish.
Lbj on green. Make green the shooter and maybe bron can muddy those passing lanes
Jvell on boogie.
Kuz hasn't shown he can defend at a high enough level to close games yet. Offensively he's there. Gotta walk the walk on defense first tho.
I think from an offensive standpoint Kuz should be starting. I think our best lineup would be:
LBJ
KCP/Hart
Ingram
Kuz
McGee
If Kuz was starting then that would mean Ingram is coming off the bench which I wouldn't mind since Ingram's playmaking ability would be nice with whatever our 2nd unit would be. I think eventually Kuz will steal a starting spot from someone outside of LBJ this season.

BI will get abused by KD. LeBron needs to have that assignment. BI is a decent on ball defender but is more effective on smaller players where he can overwhelm them with length. Don’t be surprised if Lance is out there late in games to guard KD if they don’t want LeBron to.

He didnt get abused last year. He matched up well with Kd. I do think lance will get some play in situations. Im not saying that these matchups should be exclusive. Esp with our versatility. Sure Lebron is gonna get his time to guard Kd. But the initial contact, i wouldnt mind seeing us matchup like this. I def like kcp on steph tho.

You must be talking regular season(which I don’t even agree with but I understand). If you don’t think LeBron is gonna guard KD a majority of the time in a playoff series, you’re outta your mind. Ingram ain’t ready for that.

no kuz can't. he will never have the lateral quickness of a kcp. never no matter how hard he tries. and you dont want your pf running around and having to get super low to the ground to guard short guys all the time. thats bad on the knees and the back. no thanks. kuz at SF, PF, and occasionally C since that position is soft these days.
