Why? He won’t get minutes here.

I think he would start here. Look at my proposed lineup in the FA thread.

Well, let me change my response. Someone, of Kuz/Ingram/Ariza, would end up with very little playing time.

Is Ariza worth keeping Kuz on the bench? I'm not so sure.

Disagree.

Kuz would sop up all the minutes at backup SF/PF. He'd get close to what he's getting now, our 1st unit would get defense (scoring isn't the issue, defense is) and our bench gets a more dependable scorer (unless you want to see Lance dance).

There's only 96 minutes available at the SF and PF spots. Don't want to belabor this point in the Chandler thread , but just curious on how you'd divvy them up.

Lebron: 35
Kuzma: 32
Ingram: 31

I guess Ingram is playing the 2, so that frees up some minutes. So then, it's Josh Hart that takes the minutes hit? Someone has to lose minutes unless they are included in the hypothetical Ariza trade.

We are thinking way too traditionally here. I personally would run some lineups without a PG, but here's how I would do it:

SG: Ariza (22)/Hart (26)
SF: BI (32)/Ariza (6)/Kuz (10)
PF: LBJ (32)/Kuz (16).

Lance is out of the rotation and used in "break in case of emergency" basis.

Ariza: 28mpg
Hart: 26
BI: 32
Kuz: 26
LBJ: 32

It is 2018, Ariza starting would be a tank move.

Worked just fine for the Rockets in the 2018 playoffs (except the last game)?

Quote:
Typically, the NBA buyout market doesn't heat up until the February trade deadline. In Chandler's case with the Phoenix Suns, that would've been the expected timeline. The ship had long since sailed on the idea that Chandler would be a part of any sort of championship pursuit in Phoenix, but at least he could serve as a role model and mentor to No. 1 overall pick DeAndre Ayton.

And that was the plan…until LeBron called in a favor.

It's no coincidence that the facilitator was Suns vice president of basketball operations James Jones, a close friend and longtime teammate of James.

"They could have bought him out at the trade deadline and gotten great leadership and mentoring for two-thirds of the season," a rival executive told B/R. "But LeBron wanted him now."

Usually, LeBron gets what LeBron wants. It's a privilege he's earned. It's also something that everyone in Lakerland must understand.

Good example why today’s media is garbage. The writer never stated that Lebron talked to anyone with the Suns, he just threw out random statements and hoped that readers would make up their own conclusions. I miss actual sportswriters.

It goes way beyond that.

7 contested 3-point shots, led the team.

11 overall contested shots, 3rd on the team.

He finished 3rd with net rating of +6, behind Josh Hart (+11) and Rajon Rondo (+10).

He's more motivated.Really not getting much playing time with the Suns on a very bad team. A chance to be on a playoff team in his hometown.TC is still an outstanding defensive player and rebounder and incredibly smart a lot of stuff he does won't show up in the boxscore.

I knew Tyson was gonna help our (bleep) rebounding, but damn, he has more left in the tank defensively than I thought.
