This, to me, is arguably the most egregious mistake by this FO so far. I don't care that McGee and Chandler are playing well. Brook is exactly what this team needs. Why we didn't sign him over Stephenson/Beasley is completely beyond me.
I bring this up now because on Lowe's podcast Brook seemed to indicate that he wanted to re-sign with us. So it's not on him. _________________ one dog goes that way the other dog goes the other way

Lowe: So you played for the Lakers last year, now you play for the Bucks, what's always been interesting to me and what I really want to ask you about, was, the moment Lebron signed with the Lakers, and, they also had no centers for a minute until they signed Javale McGee and now they've obviously got Tyson Chandler. There was this idea that well, ok, the Lakers need a center, and some size, and they need 3pt shooting because any team with Lebron needs a lot of 3pt shooting around them and I was like well, they just had a guy who kinda combines both of those things. So I'm curious from your perspective like, were you surprised that they didn't come after you harder or maybe they did and you just decided, umm, I mean, it's kind of a circus there with Lebron in Los Angeles, it's like a perfect storm of drama. Did you just not want any part of it? What was your perspective on the move from LA to Milwaukee?
Lopez: Well, I was a little surprised, umm, it just, it just didn't end up working out you know, umm, it kinda went in one direction pretty quickly and from that point you know I was looking at other options.
Lowe: Would you have wanted to play there? Or do you prefer this it's, it's, obviously you have a great team, I think a better team than the Lakers, but it's a quieter, it's quieter here let's put it that way.
Lopez: Yeah, I mean, I, I would have wanted to play there but umm that being said, umm, I'm happy that this worked out the way it did, cause it's the best situation possible. You know, even comparable to playing there this season. You know, far and away, this season in Milwaukee has gone so well, just the group we have here, the players, the staff, and the opportunity to do some big things. It's such a great situation to be in.

Depends who you ask.
It's clear Magic wanted a running team and didn't feel Brook fit in with his concept.
I don't know what he said on the most recent podcast. In the past, Brook has said he was willing to come back, but he's never mentioned or as far as I known been asked if he specific terms like wanting to start or a guarantee of a certain number of minutes.

I did as well but JaVale is a better fit with this team and he's a lot better player than I thought. I haven't really thought about Brook that much. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant
BroLo is making 37% from three this season with 7 attempts per game, which is incredible. Imagine having him stretch the floor playing alongside Bron. Our defense might suffer a bit but our offense would flourish.
Luckily, Lebron was able to intervene so we got TC earlier than expected. Otherwise, we could have been staring at a sub .500 record right now and Magic is gonna place most of the blames on Luke. Again, I do not think Magic is a good evaluator of talent. This is based on almost 2 years of moves. DLo looked pretty good yesterday. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024

We could have had both and get TC too. McGee coming off the bench would have had about the same minutes as if he was starting.
The major problem with the Lakers right now is the lack of depth at the center position. Usually, PFs are able to play center but we don't have a PF that could do that so we rely solely on McGee and TC at the 5. That means that if either of them went down, then we'd have to bring in Wagner and that's not gonna be pretty. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024
I wasn't surprised that they let him go, but I was definitely surprised how cheap he signed for. I would've preferred keeping him for that price tag. I also thought he'd struggle with our pace but Milwaukee is currently playing the 5th fastest pace in the NBA (we are 3rd). Oh well, I move on pretty quickly from ex-Lakers.
we could have given him Lance's money I'm pretty sure otherwise Lance + Beasley's _________________ one dog goes that way the other dog goes the other way
