Yes tankers I fully understand the odds. And I understand the excitement that we could get this year's can't miss college stud. We've seen this movie six times in the last six years. It gets a little less funny each time. |

The 6th pick has a 36% chance of a top 4 pick.
Of getting Zion, Ja, Barrett, Hunter...
We overcame a 16 point deficit to beat Chicago
We left LBJ in to beat Sacramento
This is absurd if you understand the laws of probability. |
I am not worried about the draft.
This off season's success or failure will have nothing to do with the draft. |
And what did this win with players who won't be here next season gain for us?
Nothing. |

I do understand the laws of probability and the 6th pick has a 64% chance of failure. |
36% > 14%
Please remind me what we win for getting 10th place? |

I cheer for us to win all year and was met with disappointing lost after disappointing lost.
Now we need to lose...and LeStats starts making free throws and Kuzma shakes his sophomore slump |

Always better to try and win. I didn't see the game, Alex's stats look better than Rondo's - any thoughts on which we should keep as a backup next year? _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

Where I differ with many is that I don't believe the Lakers ever 'need' to lose. Playing like crap doesn't draw impact NBA players. We've already pissed away more than half the young core we built over the last half decade or more. UNLESS, of course, we actually DO pick up a great veteran to complement LeBron with that cap space we have. A Max level player and game changer, FFS, not a one year rental.
As much as I've maligned Magic lately, I still hope this happens. Playing like crap and striving to be a cellar team doesn't help.
You'd think Kuzma elevating his game would matter. It's treated like some kind of bad thing around tank heavy LG these days. All that matters is trying to lose every game so we can get a worse record and maybe have a 35% chance at landing a top 4 pick and a friggin 8% chance at Zion. BOO that Kuzma dropped 29 and is discovering new dimensions to his game!
Really guys?
Either we win a title with LeBron James and some vet help, and some rapid development of players like Kuzma, or we don't, which means we tossed DLO, Randle, and Zubac away for nothing only to continue several more years of rebuilding.
So like I said, (bleep) the tank. |
