I loved what Lebron said.
I wonder how true the last part is "The league is not what it is if the Lakers are not winning.”
I remember last year TV ratings for the playoffs & finals were quite low relative to previous years. Lebron was believed to be the reason.
But I hear this year the ratings & revenues are up at least for the regular season (despite China bowing out). Is this partly due to the Lakers winning again? |

Partly if not mostly because the league has parity again. Nobody wanted another GSW-CLE or GSW-Anybody it got boring. Whats the point of having a regular season if a stacked HOF filled team is going to demolish teams in the end anyway. |

Partly why I'm not mad at Kawhi for not coming here. The ratings are going to be through the roof for tomorrow's game. Player constructed superteams are no fun and bad for the league, even if it's my own team. Nobody wants to watch a game if you already know the outcome. |

If it is the Lakers doing the demolishing, I'm all for it, boring or not. |

TV ratings are down for the second straight year, 16% this season. With a significant decline in the US. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

You are right. It’s is franchise values that up.

Probably a result of cord cutting too, some watch in ways that aren’t counted. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

This is what I found on revenues. It does appear they have dropped actually. But I don’t understand how franchise value goes up while revenues drop. Perhaps it is as said some sort of cutting going on or Forbes is upping value |

I've never been a fan, but I appreciate him. We all should.
He's not what he used to be, but it is a testament to how great of a player he is and was, that he remains a top 5 player in the league.
Even if he's unsuccessful in getting us a chip (I like our chances) I won't have anything negative to say about his tenure with us. |

I think a lot of the reason for him coming here had to do with getting his kids more basketball opportunities. I do believe that he means this statement though. _________________ "We are the goodest." - Shaq ESPN interview |

it's good to have Lebron... not gonna lie... he looks good in purple and gold... _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. We are spoiled as Lakers fans. We have witnesses to greatness for almost our whole existence as a franchise. From West to Kareem to Magic to Shaq to Kobe to LBJ. And there have been so many other greats in between |

Where were you when PG13 did a 3 part ESPN documentary announcing his decision to stay in OKC? |
You want to play this game? You’re going to lose. Lebron is the biggest drama queen EVER.
Shutting up and dribbling has nothing to do with what me or others are saying. Stop making every small milestone about yourself. Stop gloating. You’d never hear (bleep) like this from other guys. It’s ridiculous. |
He likes being a Laker and knows what it means. He’s always valued the high end sports brands. Him and d wade talked about it before he came here.
Do you even like the lakers? What a hater. What’s wrong with your life? |

Indeed we have been spoiled across several decades. And there's another great player wearing the Forum Blue and Gold who deserves accolades this season too. I think his initials are "A" and "D", or something like that.
Sure is nice to have a great big man out there. Makes the game so much easier. |
