Not even if Kriss Kross had songs that pumped $100 bills out of my speakers while they played would anything they've ever done qualify as top 10 all-time. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

Sorry, but IMO, no matter what your favorite genre, there are tons of songs that music lovers will admit are better than any of those. Here's a small sample off the top of my head:
Eleanor Rigby, Revolution, let it be, yesterday (Beatles)
Satisfaction, Paint it black, Sympathy For the Devil (Rolling Stones)
Imagine (John Lennon)
What'd I say? (Ray Charles)
Sittin' on the dock of the bay(Otis Redding)
What's Goin' on (Marvin Gaye)
Johnny B Goode (Chuck Berry)
Like a Rolling Stone (Bob Dylan)
Respect (Aretha Franklin)
A change is gonna come (Sam Cooke)
Thrill is gone (BB King)
My Generation (Who)
Layla (Derek and the Dominoes)
Born to Run (Springsteen)
Purple Haze (Hendrix)
Stairway to Heaven (Led Zepplin)
No Woman, No Cry (Bob Marley)
and on and on and on.... _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

Marley, irie on Hotel Caifornia. There were many hugely popular magnum opuses from 70s groups tailor made for lists like this. Along w/ Hotel California, this is the type of stuff you could easily go with.
Bohemian Rhapsody
American Pie
A Day In The Life
Stairway
Hurricane (Dylan)
Baba O'Riley
Dream On
I like "No Woman No Cry" from Marley, espec the live version. "Suzanne" by Leonard Cohen and "Ripple" from the Grateful Dead are stunning examples of songwriting as well. Beautiful songs at that. The OP proves that personal taste determines what someone calls greatness, but imo, the 70s were probably the most creative/artistic decade in music (and movies). _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Some opinions are dumb.
"Steve Francis is the best basketball player of all time"
See how dumb that opinion is? In the case of this thread, gargantuan poor taste was exhibited. So we talk about that opnion (in this case, how bad that opinion is). Is this your first time on the Internet or something? _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

Afrika Bambaataa And Soulsonic Force - Planet Rock
Pharcyde - Passin' Me By
Mos Def - Miss Fat Booty
Common - I Used to Love H.E.R.

Black Sheep - Tha Choice Is Yours (Revisited)
Camp Lo - Luchinni AKA This Is It

You know how ridiculous it is to pick your top 10 songs. I can't even pick a top 10 for a single genre. |
