it's impossible to say anything bad about metta as a person once he plays on your team and you get to know him a bit more beyond his reputation.. nothing but respect to him...
as a player, i'll always remember his amazing performance to help us get revenge on the celtics in one of the best finals i've ever seen.. he's just simply not the same player anymore and with our current older lineup it just magnifies it 10 fold.. if he goes to a more athletic lineup or is used in spurts there's no question he can still be a very effective player and some contender will pick him up for sure.. i just hope it's not a team i highly dislike because i'd like to root for him on days he's not playing the lakers...
I'll always remember...
the clutch 3 in game 7 of the finals
the post game press conference of game 7 of the finals
your game winning buzzer beater put back vs the suns in the WCF
& the flexing
So many great memories. Always proud to be a Laker warrior standing alongside Kobe and Pau for that one very special championship. On top of all that, nothing but admiration and respect for a man who does so good off the court
Damn, sad day to hear this news. Best always to you, MWP
Even though his skill set was on the decline, i always felt he gave his 100% all the time...for that he gained much respect from me!
I would have loved to see us win one more chip with him here just to see his post game interviews! Good luck mwp, hopefully you wont go to a team i have to root against... _________________ Pain is temporary, at the end of pain is success...

One of my favorites. I bought his single "Champion," and I will be buying a #37 Artest Lakers jersey, because that's what he was wearing when he helped us win that title.
Thanks for the memories, MWP! You will always be a Laker in my book. _________________ "It’s like going to the Getty and standing in front of Van Gogh’s Irises while some schmuck next to you critiques individual brush strokes. he earned his contract in 2010, then spent the rest of the years driving us nuts. oh well, it was worth it. id pay 35 mil to win one title, especially over the celtics. _________________ Kobe "I mean Phil's been here, and -- to be honest with you -- we might have, in all the years I've been with Phil, (had) maybe three defensive drills the entire time"
Good luck Metta. We will miss you man! Always gave it his all and left it all on the court for the P&G. _________________ "I was just letting the shots fly. You know, I don't leave any bullets in the chamber." -Kobe
I appreciate what Metta brought to every game while he was a laker. Always giving 100%. Metta tells it like it is, which is another thing I love. He donated his championship ring to charity, that says a lot about who he is. Nothing but respect for this guy.
